The best tankers of those eras on the market today!
Agreed!
Just put in my order for two Marathon models with our club supplier-guy (good price).
There's 3 road numbers, and as usual, Tangent doesn't spread them out at all to speak of, so I ordered the low and high numbers... 404 & 409.

I have a veritable army of handsome black tankers by Tangent, Red Caboose, and Walthers Proto... making for a nice unit train.
Sprinkled-in are some colorful ones, like the red Mobil, the white Warren, silver Texaco, etc.
The new Marathon models will add nicely to the drag.

In '81 near Tulsa, ("Oil Capital of the World") I stopped to watch a very long tanker-drag heading eastward.
It was being pulled up a grade (IIRC) by several Frisco SD45's, laboring and smoking like crazy.
An endless line of black beauties, with an occasional colored one.
It was the longest train I'd ever seen.

Nice tankers.(y)
My favorite RR car. :)

The Warren tanker looks great, but I don't like the shiny wheels.
Is that a Tangent model?

Yes, it's a Tangent model. I have three of that series.
The wheels are actually properly blackened. It's just light reflection that might make them appear 'shiny' in the photo.
