New to hobby and need help repairing Rivarossi Steam Loco

1706 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Lester Perry
My husband purchased two Rivarossi steam locos at the Timonium Train Show last weekend and now he needs to work on them.

The first one he needs to find new gears for and the second engine is running very slow.

Can any one help with locating parts and suggest what might be slowing the engine down?

He is getting really frustrated because the engines did not even last a week before they started to act up. This has been a bad first train show experience for him.

Thank you,
Sandy

Hang in there!!

If that first engine doesn't run after a good cleaning and lube, try your local hobby shop. You can really open up tremendous avenues just taking your toys to a Train Doctor(thats what I call my man Phil at my Hobby shop). Rivarossi is the cadillac of trains and it surely is worth it to get them running. Can I ask what type of steam locomotive you have? good Luck!
