New to hobby and need help repairing Rivarossi Steam Loco

1707 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Lester Perry
My husband purchased two Rivarossi steam locos at the Timonium Train Show last weekend and now he needs to work on them.

The first one he needs to find new gears for and the second engine is running very slow.

Can any one help with locating parts and suggest what might be slowing the engine down?

He is getting really frustrated because the engines did not even last a week before they started to act up. This has been a bad first train show experience for him.

Thank you,
Sandy

Hi, Sandy

Don't let him get upset. Rivarossi is one of the good ones. First the wheels of the tender and locomotive most be clean. Second the track must be clean. This hobby is about keeping the layout ruining. It is a labor of love.
