I have built a timesaver (my first attempt in model railroading)
when I run over the magnets without stoping some cars uncouple
I am not running extremly slow.
Does anyone know a fix or website where a fix can be found
I did a search here --- if I missed it i'M sorry for hashing up an old topic.

Welcome...

Sadly, regular magnetic ramps won't do. You'll have to go to electromagnetic ramps as mentioned or manual tools like the Rix Pix. I use those long sandwich toothpicks with the colorful cellophane hairdos, just drop the point into the two knuckles, give a clockwise twist and they come right apart.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:...yep...that would do it. You could experiment with clipping the trip pins off of the couplers, there are many modelers who do it for aesthetics. They would still work with the afore mentioned toothpicks.

redo

I used atlas code 100 nailded -- so I can pick the track up.
I put the cork on top of plywood then i figured out I should have put a inch or two of foam for landscaping so a redo will be helpfull.
I want to make a shelf railroad and with the foam I can even do a bridge.

I will practice with toothpicks to night

My guess would be that you will have to remove the uncoupling magnets and replace them with electro-magnetic uncouplers. I had to do the same thing. So, as the saying goes, 'Been there, done that." As well as the old axiom. "Live and learn."

So, don't feel alone, you have company in your mistake.....me.

I do use the permanent magnets in my yard but not on my lines.
