Hello

New to this forum

I picked up a Roundhouse boxcab track cleaner from the used bin at the local hobby shop. Finished the partially assembled kit and found the loco won't move. The link on the worm gear slides on the transmission so while power turns the motor and reduction gear, the link simply slips on the worm gear.

The link is plastic that fits over the metal rod connected to the worm gear.

Can anyone offer a solution to this? I'm afraid to try any kind of glue as suggested by hobby shop and am not sure replacement parts are out there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the part is cracked. If I am not mistaken, similar parts from an Athearn F7 are a drop in fit. Gluing is at best a very temporary fix. There was a one time a retrofit kit from NorthWest Shortline>>> http://nwsl.com/NWSLinfo.htm Email them...they are quite helpful.

Thanks for the response, will try the link. Part doesn't appear to be cracked though, I see the same slippage on both trucks. Any idea is helpful at this point.
