Have an old Arnold Tenderlok mallet (2277) that died over the weekend, and looking for a little direction.
It looks like the motor itself is kaput.....appears that some of the actual winding insulation melted, changing brushes did nothing.....I do believe it is toast.
That being said....wondering if anyone has ever adapted anything Kato over to this engine, and which motor would be advisable to use?
OR
There are some old Arnold motors out there....but the original part # (2275-015) is nowhere to be found.
Toss in this tidbit....I am converting over to DCC, and was debating if this was one of the few that I would attempt to convert.....worth the effort or no?
Thanks for the help in advance.....this engine is gorgeous, ran great (up til yesterday), and was one of my favorites.....would like to save it, but if it's going to be crazy to do it tell me.....
