Bachmann suggested I try coming here for information on 3 train sets I purchaed at an estate sale. One set is a Bachmann "Timberline Express". I have 2 sets new in the box of this one . Each is identical one still has the plastic on. One I took the plastic off to find a manufacture date. No luck. Bachmann said they changed hands too much and didnt' keep good records. I have pictures if anyone is interested or has info.
The third train set is "Life-like" "Long Hauler". New in the box with plastic on.
I really would like to know more about production dates or where I can find the info.

Also with the e bay account use the set names as keywords and get notified when the item is listed.

Im guessing 90's Long Hauler was the name then.

I do not know if this is much of a clue or not but I can say this. For the fife like one the transformer shown on that box is in a color they started using in the mid to late eighties. I had an earlier style as a kid, my brother received the one in that box a few years later. Bachmann in recent sets colors their transformers in black with a red dial today. That color scheme was used when I was a kid (80s).
