I bought a 1950's switcher the other day at a show. It ran like hell so I cleaned the commutator and such, cleaned the crud off of the gears, cleaned the reversing switch and used a light oil here and there and it does run better but the current drain is way higher then my new lionel engine.1.5A unloaded and 2A with cars. New engines use 500ma current. Is this typical for older engines? Also is the reversing switch suppose to buzz all the time.
