Hi
Back in the Days of ROUND HOUSE engine kits, there was a neat little G-5. Been getting back in to HO scale after 30 years (had to move) and I miss this critter. Anyone any idea why someone has not come out with a model? Seems like it would make a great sister to the BLI consolidation. Actually any of the more modern 4-6-0 would be nice. Thanks for your thoughts.

Roundhouse is now under an Athearn roof.
I remember their G5, and I also remember Bowser's version.
Seems the Bowser was favored for its accurate cab, while the Roundhouse version was known for a more accurate boiler. However, some of the Bowser kit versions had brass boilers, and were very difficult to assemble the Zamac parts to.
I haven't seen either one in several years.

The Bachmann models are an earlier vintage design than the G-5's. In the old days some enterprising modeler might marry an H-8/10 Penn Line boiler to a Varney Casey Jones mech to get a reasonable facsimile. Was nice to have access to parts like that.
