Have a fastrack setup running two ready to run plug and play engines. Using only the plug and play wall pack, I have 18 volts on each piece of train. However, both engines stop at one part of the track (right before a right hand switch). Tried both wall pack, both engines and both remotes with same results. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated? Thanks again in advance for your help.

If you're getting power to some of the track, then you know the issue is not with the transformer or the wiring going to the track. Do you have a volt meter for checking voltage? What you really need to do is power up the track without any locomotives and start checking the track with a volt meter in the area you're having the issue to see if there is voltage in the center rail and powered outside rail. Sounds like you have a dead spot.

never heard of plug and play engines.

a little more info will help, what lionel part number,
do the engines go the other way?
take the switch out.

That's a start. I'd also measure voltage with a load on the track.

A poor connection between tracks may show proper voltage to a volt meter but not support the amps required for a loco.
