Hey guys,
Where’s do I get the rubber bands for my polar express wheels? Mine have turned hard and fallen off.
thanks
Jim
For Lionel parts, you go here Lionel Train Replacement Parts, O Gauge Model Trains from Lionel Trains
Then you enter your product number or name
You look up a Lionchief model Lionel Train Replacement Parts, O Gauge Model Trains from Lionel Trains
Part number 70 is the traction tires

They tend to supersede these a lot

So then I look up the alternate part number

Also, when you go and replace those traction tires, a good time to also check and ensure the eccentric cranks are tight before you break or wear them out from being loose.

I'm saying this because last night, I had 2 Lionchief steam engines cross the repair bench with loose eccentric cranks and yes, one was a polar express. The classic scenario-they got them out and went to run them, failed to check basics with lube, traction tires, hair or fibers wrapped around every moving part, and loose eccentric cranks that then jammed the wheels when they rotated out of phase. Customer states: "Train won't run, just hums".
You think maybe because the wheels are jammed?
