The one and only painted Preiser figure I have is the Trucker, which although is an excellent rendition, was rather expensive for just one figure.
To place the needed figures around my layout promises to be a rather costly proposition.

I picked up a couple packs of unpainted Preisers at the LHS (something I hadn't known existed). I'd thought the only unpainted figures were from China.
120 sprued figures in each set: Trades figures, and Station figures. They're very high quality.

Although tedious, the task of painting them might turn out to be an interesting experience...
Because of it's superb fine-line ability, I plan on using the Harder & Steenbeck airbrush to dress them up.

thanks for the part number ....
i just picked up the trades people, worked out to roughly fifty dollars canadian ..:)
LHS price here ranges from $26 to $35.
They're on eBay for as much as $40.
The highest price I've seen works out to about 30 cents per figure. For Preiser quality that's quite a deal.

Whimps!

You guys have more time and patients than I. I buy them painted. Granted, I don't have very many because of the cost, but I'd rather pay someone else to paint these tiny things.
If you think painting HO-scale figures is tough, try painting the N-scale "little people." If that's not enough challenge for ya, they also make them in Z-scale! :D Oh, don't forget to scratchbuild the station to put your hand-painted people in! ;)

All of my figure painting experience has been at 28mm (approx 1:56) but I fully intend on painting figures for my HO layout when I get to that point. The relatively low level of detail required for layout figures is not difficult.

In the meantime I scour shows for deals. Found the Presier travelers set for less than 5 bucks last year.
