Hey John, I saw where you recently locked an other thread because of some political post by a couple of regulars. That only works "after the fact".

Have you considered suspending their posting privileges for say 10-30 days? That might (IMHO) yield better results.

I agree, even though after the antagonizers start with their rants, I will jump in sometimes.
I wouldn't otherwise.
Take off the 10..........make it 30.

I hope the thread about riot damage at the club didn't prompt this discussion.

Eeesh...
The whole thread would be locked for one political comment?
Why not just remove that comment?
Easier to just lock it.
Better to turn off the posting for the offenders for 30 days or more.
Everyone knows the "law" here.

"Easier" doesn't equal "better".
It's a shame to lock a whole thread because one person broke the rules.
It was 2 people, the same 2 most of the time.
What happens is the one ( in this case 2) posts evolve into 8/9/10 more posts.
I try to refrain from saying anything but when the thread goes on and on I will then say something.
I would not have if it didn't go on and on.
John can't be here 24/7, and when he sees it it is easier just to lock it.

It might go on for a while till he sees it.

And the answer is like Jim said, just BAN the offenders for a while.

No bother, Political posts were banned a long time ago.
Too many heated arguments developed from them.
You know.........Everybody's right and no one is wrong.

I guess that the REAL admin needs to be a part of this discussion?
Not that I would presume to suggest any course of action, I don't wannabe moderator...:ROFLMAO:

He's a moderator, not an Admin. All the admins work for Vertical Scope and post as VS-Admin

There's forum administration and site administration. VS does not have enough people to do forum admin on all the forums they own, so they rely on people like GRJ to do that.
