LEDs are wonderful for most applications but I prefer the old incandescent bulbs for my Lionel 153 signals, 025 bumpers, and switch machines. Colored bulbs are harder to come by and I have been searching for glass paint. I found a winner. Marabu GlasART makes a red and a green that look like the old transparent colored bulbs. Attached is a photo of an old K-Line switch machine with newly painted incandescent bulbs. The green is lighted.

I always liked the incondesents for the trains, i used nail polish, but it wares off eventually and isnt uniform because of the diffrent kinds of nail polish on the bulbs. Good find. I didnt know they made paint for glass.

The colors are Dark Green and Vermillion. There is also Yellow I'm going to try for a Marx three color signal. I wiped the bulbs with acetone then dipped them into the paint with a handle of cellophane tape around the base.
