Asking if anyone has replaced the 4 tabs that hold a tin tender shell on. I have a tender shell I
want to salvage. I have a tab missing on each end. A tab on each end will hold the shell on but
its just a matter of time before one of them breaks off. Marty's Trains in New York sells replacement
tabs. Price not bad and probably what I should get. 5.99 plus 1.00 shipping. So for 7.00 can replace
the tabs. Do you have a better idea. Here is Marty's ebay ad.

I have used those tabs before Al. They work great...BUT.. the tabs have to be filed down as they are too big to fit into the slots on the tender chassis.I hope you have a dremel.. But they are worth the price, I would buy them again....

Thanks for info flyernut. I thought they looked like a good deal. I wonder if Jeff Kane carries them. I still have a tab on each end of tender shell and they are holding fine. But you know its just a matter of time.
You can only bend metal so many times till it breaks.
