The title is my attempt at catching the eye of whoever was asking about a layout they once saw where it rotated around and the train itself was not moving...anyways a few guys told him he may have it wrong but BE hold!

Hmmm ...

On a line of latitude of about 40-degrees north (say connecting New York to San Francisco), the circumference around the Earth is about 19,000 miles. The Earth completes one rotation, of course, in 24 hours. From an observer in space, somebody having a cup of coffee at a cafe in New York is spinning around at 800 miles per hour.

So, if a train is chugging from NY to San Fran at 50 mph, is it really moving BACKWARDS at 750 mph ??? Will it every actually get to San Fran ???

Mysteries of the universe!
