Doing some research for a guy I know on a S gauge 4-10-4 steam locomotive #932. Trying to figure out if it was built by American Flyer or if it was a custom built locomotive by someone. The front half steam rods looks like a AF 290. The locomotive shell is plastic so I've been told. Searched all over the internet with no luck. Can anyone enlighten me on what this guy may have ?

It was custom made by a model builder. Take a look at sgaugers.org/TD/TD_JD.html for more customized Gilbert engines. Joe Deger is a talented modeler.

Well after much research i have figured it out thanks to the help of Ron Insco. The Locomotive shell is cast metal with the back half being a AF 312 and the front half being a AF 293. The guy who built it used two 4-6-2 drive trains and machined them to interlock. Still uses AF smoke unit and motor. For the tender, it was two AF 307 plastic tender shells glued together and uses original reveres unit. Definitely a one of a kind Locomotive.
