I wanted to try my hand a scratch building a foam core building. Where do you get brick veneer and other veneers for the finished product. I have searched google and can not seem to find them? I eventually want a large warehouse for a back corner of the layout.

Why foam core? Many manufacturers of sheet stock. Brick, steel siding and roofing, wood......even shingled roofs. I have bundles of product from K&S Engineering that I bought at a show many years ago. I still have dreams of starting to build more structures for my layout. I also use it for repairs on distressed buildings I acquire.

Foam core seems to be a bit labor intensive. Why not just reinforce the corners of an open design? That would also allow you to detail the interior if you wished.

I want to try this method. It seems fairly easy. I am not going to cut brick out of foam core if that is what you are thinking. I just can't seem to find veneer sheets of brick, siding, etc.

Try looking for Evergreen Scale Models products, either on eBay or Walthers.com.

It is a small logging caboose, like the Kadee version, only I freelanced it.

I did a similar one in styrene in HOn30...

awesome work.

i like the idea of foam core. as i see it can be quite good solution at a times.
the people who built that website however... uhhh. well, lets just say it looks completely unprofessional.

Yes the website doesn't look very good but it has some good info. The site is a pain to navigate and looks awful tho.
