I'd like try my hand scratch building some structures (farm house, train station, ect) using template designs that could be swapped and down loaded online, then printed out to scale. I was wondering if anyone out there was doing this with something like Autocad?

i seen building design software that will do just that - design and print a net ( polytope or how do you call it?) to be cut and glued together. name and link eludes me right now, i might search for it once i get home.

autocad can be used for a lot of things including this one, but it is quite expensive piece of software to do just that.

For scale work I have seen sites with adobe. Mostly work in making backdrops. Interesting variety of buildings and surfaces to copy.
I do not have a good example. My wife came up with Jim's printable mini's. It has O scale but caters to doll houses. I used a brick printout from them. A lot of searching is needed to find free downloads. Here is a pay site.
