A handsome locomotive! The railroads once had “engine wipers”, a laborer position, whose job it was to shine the brass and nickel adornments on the old locomotives. This engine will certainly deserve that kind of attention!

I'm sure quite a few of ya'll have one of these but I just got this one.
It's 1956 Gulf Chemical car. It's in pretty good shape. Better shape than me probably.

Ha. My wife asked me if I would be getting some rusty cars. Said that is what she remembers seeing on the tracks in Ga.

I actually scrub some cars with liquid hand soap and a tooth brush…gently and quickly. You can just dust it off instead or just leave it like it is. The patina makes it interesting.
