Hi everyone.sorry I don't know enough about them. (were to place or what they are used for ) but I bought this one one e-bay. price was right so were do I place it ?

That is a block signal... You can place it somewhere on your main line... They are used to prevent trains from getting too close to each other or having a head on collision...

i'm not to experineced on the subj but from what i understand on the right side of the track when facing the direction of travel, protecting a section of mainline or a turnout.

I have an isolated 3 sections of track. The train stops and after a period of time it restarts.

anyone have any ideal,how to hook it up I hooked it right to a power pak, and all I got were sparks it didn't come with any instructions,on how to hook it up. I hooked it up to the ac side of the pak.

O scale has three connections Two to the powered rails, the third to the isolated track section about 20 inches long.

WHen the train stops it heats a strip. Then starts and goes.
