Here's my stash of smoke unite that are re-built and ready to smoke the heck out of my basement.. Several have the pre-wound wicks from Jeff Kane, and 1 has a "professional" grade wick kit from a ebay seller named LBR, (I think). I want to try the Lionel resister in another unit, just need more info on it.

Okay I'm a bit confused here on the Lionel resister. The picture I saw that mopac posted shows the resistor in the smoke unit but no wick. Is that how it is done or is the wick still needed?

My take is you wrap the wick around the resister, and keep it wet during running. As soon as my wick material arrives, which should be today, I'm going to try a rebuilt smoke unit on one of my test engines.
