Over a year ago, I successfully speed matched an Athern and BLI and ran them in MU for a while.

That was over a year ago.

When I went to run them lately, they did not match any more.

Is that normal to lose CV settings after setting idle for a long time like a year?

It's not been my experience to lose settings... I have soundtrax decoders.

the CV settings may not have changed, but the grease -may- have dried a little unevenly ..

If you did the speed matching using the speed table, you may have toggled one of the locomotives back to regular operations.
