I haven't, but I've bought other stuff from china. I have several street lights in my 'wish list' on ebay, but haven't bought yet.

For the price... less than $15 for sets of 10, I think it's hard to not buy them if you find something you want.

The stuff I have bought from china (with eyes full wide open) has been exactly what I expected.

Slow boat from China

Has anyone bought any of the lights offered on ebay that ship from China ? I would like to get several old era lights to use in a rail yard. Before buying I want to get some feed back on them.
I bought a bunch of tiny surface-mount LEDs, rather than streetlights, from China. Good product, great price, took a solid month to get here!
So if your'e in a hurry, you might buy locally. If time is not an issue, then buying from China is fine.

Most of the lights are 3 or 12 volts. The lights in the fueling pad photo I posted are 3 volts. Some of street lights I bought are 12 volts. I bought 3 & 12 volt power supplies to power the lights. Most all the lights come with resistors. To make it simple I just use a 3 volt power supply for the 3 volt lights this way there's no resistor required. . You can buy the power supply for about $6.00.

How many lights can the 3V power supply handle at one time ? I noticed on WE Honest website they have PC boards and plugs for the lights. Like you I will be adding several lights in the rail yard so to find the best way that is also least expensive is my goal.

I don't know but I have at least 25 on one 3 volt power supply. I know I bought a 16ft strip of 12 volts SMD's for my building that came with a 12 volt power supply. In the instructions it said do not power more SMD's then what is on the strip. That's about 300.
Go to my Getting Stuff Lit thread in the structures section there's a photo of it there. I guess if your not use to wiring stuff up the PC boards may work better.

Go to my (Getting Stuff Lit) thread in the structures section. Drill down some. All the lights in the thread are from China at a great saving. You can't beat the deals. Here's an example of some yard lights.

I love your layout and plan to create something very similar.

Thanks SteamEngineDan. It's kind of hard to list the source of all my buildings. The truck facility was made from some modules I bought at the Big E years ago. Most of the other buildings I bought are Woodland Scenics that are expensive but I bought at a 50% off sale at a hobby store in New Milford CT.
