I am new to the DCC and have also been out of the hobby for many years. I am coming back in with HO but decided I’d run an O Gauge around my livingroom (80’). Although I’ve already put a tunnel through a wall into the kitchen so I can park the train if I want to run another one. I bought a Lionel and decided to try Legacy. Now for the question. Is there some way to add a decoder to a track vehicle so I can control speed and direction? The vehicle is a Dodge Ram track inspection vehicle. I’ve also got my Parents train that I’ve thought about running too.

I would presume you mean a O scale inspection vehicle. It's just a matter of isolating the motor from the chassis of the truck and having the room to install the decoder.

Thanks for the information. The other problem I’m having is finding who sells the decoders. Any ideas.

Ok. I saw the Henning’s train website on your post. I’ll check it out and order. Is it the mini commander 2 that I need?
