okay im into this projet about a month now and steady getting there

okay so i made a bridge it was way to big lucky it can work with a little down sizing..... i am made a removable tunnel out of some foam from work i need so suggestions on how to make look more like a tunnel? than a piece of foam

now i went cheap on the wood it was free osb i thought i could of mad it look nice but oh well this is just a start i decided to go with 4 inch width so i could put my brackets on top of the shelf instead of on bottom it looks better to me.... i want to make this more like a nascar theme so i want to get some flat rolling stock so i can put some nascars on it. my train is a life like 1998 snap on colletors set... it will look good with the nascars behind it.... now i am almost complete with the shelf and now time for the track i went down to the hobby store and bought 4 flex track to make see how it will go....and look i get 20 % off on the fourth of july so thats when im going to get the rest of my supplies

do i need to run cork under the track???

here are a few pictures of my progress and my train

That's nice, "always kiss the trains goodnight.":D

You can run cork under the track to deaden the sounds some. But you don't really need it.
The tunnel........you can buy some tunnels portals for the front and back. Shape the square corners a little. Or sculpture with one of the plaster products. Paint? To simulate rock?
