I always liked Varney
Easy to put together, and well engineered.

These were at the bottom of one of the bins of stuff from the estate sale. My grandson figured I'd get a kick out of them. He did good.

The boxcar and one reefer have Kadees, and were partially weathered.

If the 'Lil Joe' runs, I'm gonna' have fun with it. I may use it to shuttle gons to-and-from the salvage yard.
Surprisingly, the castings are in good shape... only very slight 'surface-rot'. They'll all be 'hobby-blasted' with a bead medium, and enamel-primed before painting.

I have that exact santa fe boxcar, just not with kadees, and it looks weathered, although that sat in an attic for 20ish years. It needs one new axle, as part of the flange is missing and it will just derail.
