I recently saved up enough of my "allowance" to purchase a B&O BEEF set from RMT for my new 0-27 table. I had been eyeing it for a few months and had been waiting for one of their frequent sales.

I recieved my BEEF and was very impressed, but it would not pull a car around a standard 0-27 turn on my table. Upon examination the pilot was too narrow. I was upset as I knew the website stated it would handle 0-27, but alas it did not say that it would pull something through 0-27. So, having seen other positive comments about RMT on another site I sent a note to their service email and explained my problem.

About one and half hours later my wife tells me a Walter from RMT is on the phone asking for me. Wow! I wasn't expecting that. Walter and I spoke for about 15 minutes discussing my problem and possible solutions. He mentioned that in trying to keep the BEEF as prototypical as possible they had to keep the pilot narrow. We also discussed RMTs future projects and trains in general.

In summary, I was very pleased with the response and personal nature in which RMT does their business. I was able to solve my problem (though they should state the 0-27 issue on their website) satisfactorily, and after that experience I plan on making RMT my Primary source of purchases. I also, just like their stuff a lot. They have a cool old style EMU that will debut in 13 in their catalog that looks really cool:).

I just ordered 2 different road numbered CNJ box cars.
They are on sale now for $24 bucks a piece, not a bad deal.

They have different roads if anyone is interested.

Put in save40 in the coupon code box when you check out.
Sale ends soon.

They get to my house quick as they are in Jersey, I like their products though like I have said elsewhere I don't like the way they price things then 2 weeks later have a "sale".

I now have a Bang switcher, 2 ore cars, 2 depressed flats with Bethlehem Steel tanks, 2 hoppers, 2 Bethlehem Steel yard lights and now 2 box cars.
All CNJ.:D:thumbsup:

One word of advice is to do your homework on the sales. And if you wait a bit it seems they will go on sale.
Though some of the sales are the first price anyway as they up the price of the product then just give you a discount to bring it down to the same price.

I say they should just give you their rock bottom price from the beginning and they would sell a lot more.

Now as to your problem with the Beef and your discussion with Walter.
What did you do to fix whatever it was it was doing.
If you add the problem and fix it might help out another member here.

I am waiting for a water tower now, Walter said maybe August.:D

I will post that later. I wanted to separate the two as I just wanted to first comment on the good experience I had with a toy company.
