The guys at Marklin peg the SK800 at $300-400, other than that, every thing is fairly common. They feel the lot is worth more like $1000 or thereabouts. I trust them, they've done me good in the past.

As for the zinc-pest, that was a problem on certain Lionels and Rivarossis too. You can't be too careful as there is no cure, once it starts, it will eventually consume the piece. Keeping them in a humidity free room with no temperature extremes keeps it from forming and slows the progress of any that starts. Here's an example on the wheelsets of one of my coaches---thankfully the only one...
