Walthers Proto
Wood C-30-1
.

A comparison of as-is condition, and soot-weathered.
Mostly drybrushed.

These models are completely extinct, and can only be found by hobby archeologists. Some are in European eBay stock at very high prices.
I managed to grab a few from LHS shelves before they disappeared.
Walthers produced them in various 1930's to '50's prototype lettering configs.

The prototypes that rolled out of Oakland yards were usually pretty dirty.
