I have only been on less then 2 weeks and I have learned so much and gotten such great help. My new layout will be up and running in no time (if I can afford it) but even if it takes a while I don't feel so isolated. I have built several layouts in the past but never gotten much help, just read and read and read some more till I figured it out. I still do the research but it helps to "get a leg up" and to know others have been there. Thanks all!:D:D:D

The train table that my layout is on, was made by my father years before I was born. Model trains have always been part of my life. I have alway enjoyed this hobby. I read the Magazines, laid track, ran wire, helped the Kidd's run trains.

All that was great. The bad thing was most of my Friends and coworkers did not under stand my Passion for model trains.

The members of this site do. I enjoyed reading the post, seeing the pic. Some of the links are better than google. If I have a question. there is always a fast response.

Thanks TwoRail for starting it.
Thanks Boston & Maine for all your work.

One of the best things about this site is the lack of the "forum mafia". The guys that think that they are better than everyone. The guys that have the monster layouts, high end equipment that look down on others who don't. They will always make the others feel inferior. They will always post a degrading reply and hold a "holier than thou" attitude.

Not here. And that's a good thing.

I glad you think that. I was worried that y'all did not like me since my layout is 1000 feet by 2000 feet. DCC. With all brass trains. I moved to a bigger home just to hold it all. The butler just fix a derailment for me. The new house is made of old rolling stock!:lol_hitting:(wife, smacks john in the back of head for lying)

Sorry wife says I should stop lying.

Stationmaster is right. that is one of the thing that make this forum fun.
