I’m setting up a small O scale set for the Christmas Tree.

Here’s what I think I need
-Transformer (CW80)
-Lionel Fastrack - 12 sections of o48 curve
-Power wire for Fastrack
-Locomotive
-Passenger cars
-Caboose
-Smoke fluid.

Anything else?

Thanks!

Not sure if there is a Fastrack terminal section with O48 diameter. If not, you need to either solder wires to a section or get a straight terminal section and matching length straight for the other side of the oval.

If you are just running a passenger train, you don’t need the caboose. If you want a caboose, you might want to get some freight cars to go with it.

Umm neither is required. On the underside of each section of fastrak are terminal connections for center rail and one of the common rails. You can get slide on connectors from Harbor Freight and make your own power feeds - I used an old white extension cord. The curves if I recall also feature a knockout in the “ballast” to allow for power feeds. If you’re setting this up on carpet, I wouldn’t bother with the knockouts.

No need to make this more difficult than it needs to be.
