I am an old HO modeler from way back. I currently run a small layout with a MRC Power pack. I was wondering if any one knows what happened to the other manufacturers of packs. such as Troller maker of Auto pulse Momentum also others. Thanks.:):) What i was trying to find out was what happened to The Troller company do the still make power supplies or were the merged or sold to some one else. WHAT?

The old selenium rectifiers would fail. MRC uses modern circuitry. If you still have them you could use the transformer with a modern bridge rectifier, voltage regulator and a couple of capacitors

Power supply thread

The old selenium rectifier on the left. A 12 volt regulator and two capacitors.

The power supply installed with a modern rectifier to the left. This combination yields a filtered DC supply.

Big difference in size.

Welcome...

They're slowly making their way to my house. I run my N scale with a 40+ year old MRC Dual Control unit, my HO with a 40+ year old Hammant and Morgan Duette from the UK...both were like new when they came up recently. I grab them as I see them because DCC made them and others dinosaurs.
