I purchased an American flyer 326 that was converted to a DC motor. There are only two wires coming from the motor to the Jack panel and two wires from the tender to the Jack panel plugs. I would like to add a Dallee 400 e unit so I can run it on my AC track without having to use a rectifier. This is obviously not an American flyer motor.I am not sure how to wire this unit to the motor or is this something that cannot be done. Does anyone have any ideas?

No idea what specific motor it is. It looks like and open frame 3 pole motor and it would have a permanent magnet field. Total amperage requirements for this style motor plus the smoke unit would be at least 4A. A 5A rated Dallee unit should be adequate. The Dallee should just have 2 AC from track inputs and 2 DC to motor outputs. Were it my engine I would put a standard 4 pin plug and jack on the engine and use the additional 2 wires to supply AC track power directly to the light and smoke unit rather than use the DC power.
The Dallee board will have a smaller load and the smoke unit will work just as well.

Buy a plastic 302 for twenty something and put that motor in your 326. And you can use the jack panels. And maybe the reverse unit. If not get a dallee. That's just me though. Both of my Hudsons have the smaller motor and they run fine.

Mopac, this motor is in my the 326. It is a DC motor. It screams. Lots of pulling power. I want to add the Dallee 400 E unit to avoid using a rectifier and the DPDT switch.

AmFlyer, following your advice I worked on the train this afternoon. My 326 is working just fine. Glad to get rid of the DPDT switch. Thank you so much for your advice. Love my American flyer trains!
