Background info:

I've heard of Rapido announcing that their locomotives are not compatible with the MRC 1300 series power packs because they may have a pulse funcion built in. This is because Rapidos trains have small capacitors (and what not) that can be damaged by the voltage spikes. I don't have a multimeter so I can't test it myself.

My question:

Since DCC Ready locos have small electronics in them, will my MRC 1300 power packs damage them? I don't wanna shell out money for decoders if I don't have too.

Thanks in advance!! :smilie_daumenpos:

DCC ready locos -usually- include capacitors and inductors [look like resistors] on them for european noise suppression..
these are not mandatory in the us and can be removed if your situation calls for it ..
mind you they -should- be able to tolerate it ?
