personally i would go with the Hornby or better yet a digitrax those to are the best dcc decoders available that i know of and don't say MTH because there products can only be used on there track with there controllers and no other dcc engines from other manufactures trains will run with an MTH controler.
I use Bachmann decoders (because they are cheap and work well for basic operations). For sound equipped locos when in the UK, I used South West Digital supplied decoders, which are superb for British models. Not sure what I will use now in Slovenia.
