My son's at it again.

Large weekend flea market near where he lives. He used to shop for my control line model planes there, now he finds trains.

Y6 AHM Rivarossi Mallet with box and instructions needs work for $15. Missing tender though.

Came with the front trucks disassembled and missing parts but has the "cow catcher". Found on ebay a set of wheels for it but minus the geared wheels which thankfully is included. Others look pretty toasty.

Being a newby here, this is what I do, buy (and keep) damaged locomotives and repair them. Did it for years with model airplanes and model glow engines.

Keeps me off the streets, and something that I enjoy doing. :)

Warning. With me you get pictures, hope they don't bore and are easy to load on your device.

I take pictures mostly for my own use as memory prompts. I'm 82 you know. :)

an excellent find :)

it will keep you busy for a while, lol
:)

All those little pieces. :(

But the box is complete and in good shape. I would have paid $15 for the box alone as I have a couple of those Mallets minus the box.

Red box, not the old style open view boxes of the earlier models.

Rivarossi models were the first I bought back in the 1960's. Department stores used to sell them at Christmas for a fraction of their on box prices.

I'm trying to compile a history of the company and when they introduced changes to their products.
