I am the original owner, but I was only one year old when I got it. Here are pictures of the set box that shows the set number in a 1950 box. This set, as a 1950, is undocumented in the Flyer literature. Also a picture of the engine wrapper. The 577 billboard was in the set, but just wrapped in brown paper, not in a box. The 716 Coal dump car is wrapped in brown paper that is in a cardboard box. The 716 is 1950 production as is the engine.

Boy, that engine looks like it is brand new. Beautiful set.

Thanks. I am fortunate to have all my original Gilbert trains and accessories with their boxes from the early 1950's.

I wish I took care of my toys I had in the same manner. Being an 80s kid, I took all of my He-Man and GI Joe's and swapped arms and legs between similar figures, creating my own guys. I also played "junk yard" and crushed my hot wheels in my father's vice....

I'd love to have the toys that meant so much to me way back then to have my own kids enjoy. It's truly remarkable the condition of your origional stuff.

We had a Tyco HO set when I was really little, but knowing what I know now, I am sure it was nothing that had any value or quality to it.

Looks good Tom. I too run my 322AC and 326 a lot also. I just like the way a Hudson looks running down the track. Once in a while I will run one of my other Hudsons. The last couple of days I put my newly aquired 21099 Pacific on the track after checking it out. Runs fine as the man said it would. I did clean the grease out of the gears though. It was okay but just looked a little old and felt kind of stiff. Although it runs fine, it doesn't have the Hudson look.

I really feel guilty!
I picked up a “junker” Hudson, totally revamped it with can motor & TMCC and had it refinished in PRR livery. Boy, did I hear about that!

I don’t know how I missed this thread. Two of my most favorite things in life, trains and Christmas. They go together like ham & eggs, beer & brats and turkey & stuffing.

Santa Fe and Santa Clause… I love ‘em BOTH. 🎄
