Is there someone who has an elevated trestle made for O27 that could measure it and provide the following dimensions? Width at top of trestle, Width at bottom of trestle, Height at top of trestle, Actual distance between table top and bottom of track.
Thanks,
Luke

Luke, I have these handy, but they are an elevated set. Do you need the size of all?? Or just the tallest[letter A] to the smallest [letter K]?? These are Lionel part number 6-2110 for elevated or 6-2111 for an A only set. Let me know what size you need measured. Tucgary

Those measurements do help, however I should have been clearer on the width. I actually need the distance from the outer columns at the bottom and top. Oversimplifying, I have a 36 diam. Fastrack oval and a 48 diam. oval and I would like to place a 42 diam. 027 elevated track between them and need to know if the bottom of the trestle will fit between those two fastrack ovals.

Thanks for taking the time to provide the measurements and photos. My suspicions have now been verified, the trestles are too wide to fit between the 2 ovals. I will have to come up with another way of elevating the o42 loop. I have seen several folks using 2" dowels on a plywood base, but I am not sure how to make those work since I am using 2" foam for the base.

batstang: I've been reading with interest this thread, since I added an elevated track to my layout. I would suggest not using Lionel's trestle pieces, but make your own elevated support structure.

I used 1/4-inch thick presswood board finished in white on one side from Home Depot, for the roadbed. Then 5/8-inch thick dowels. I custom cut with a jigsaw the roadbed for the elevated track, and used 2 & 1/2-inch drywall screws to fasten it all together.

It worked perfectly for what I needed and I never had any problems. By doing this, you can make the elevated track whatever height you want.

My only question is how could you fasten anything to a foam board without it being glued to a plywood base?

This system worked well for me. The dowels have a very small footprint and you can put them practically anywhere they're needed. It was solid and I never had an accident or derailment.

Here's a couple of photos to help explain. I should have painted the whole thing gray. Hope this helps.
