Another Wilmington Show Treasure, A frame had two three axle trucks on it, in a junk box.
Got it home and noticed the stamped numbers 24?

The frame was 81/2 inches by 21/4 inches wide. Just plain big. Screw holes in the four corners The trucks had coil couplers. I tried the Lionel Tender list but no luck. Then I went to Tandem and found it. A 2426W SemiScale Tender. All I got was the trucks and the frame.:(

It came with the 726 Berkshire in 1946 and was part of the 50th celebration set in 1950 with a 773 Hudson.

One last interesting fact, the tender held the whistle and the reverse unit.

Maybe Someday.

At first I was only interested in the trucks. It is neat. The frame is designed like a 6466 type tender. the square piece jutting out the back and the front having a bend down. On of the first things I did was compare it to the 2671. It was longer and slightly wider. For now I am happy with a front truck needed for a 2671.

One truck had carboard stuffed at the end of the axle. It prevented the axle from slipping out. That was an easy fix, The truck frame had split a little during use. A quick bend here and there straightened it out.. The plastic end prevents the axle from dropping out.
