Another Wilmington Show Treasure, A frame had two three axle trucks on it, in a junk box.
Got it home and noticed the stamped numbers 24?
The frame was 81/2 inches by 21/4 inches wide. Just plain big. Screw holes in the four corners The trucks had coil couplers. I tried the Lionel Tender list but no luck. Then I went to Tandem and found it. A 2426W SemiScale Tender. All I got was the trucks and the frame.
It came with the 726 Berkshire in 1946 and was part of the 50th celebration set in 1950 with a 773 Hudson.
The Tandem link for a good tender picture
The 773 Hudson link
One last interesting fact, the tender held the whistle and the reverse unit.
Maybe Someday.
