Tomix Double Slip Switches

I am working on a track plan using Kato Unitrack. I wanted to include a couple slip switches in my track plan. Kato does not make their own, so I am looking at using Tomix slips. I understand they will need some adaptation to connect with the Kato track.

I was interested if anyone would have some input in regards to the quality of the turnouts and how well they operate.

I am also planning on using Kato turnout controls on these switches. It appears the Tomix turnouts are basically the same electronically the same as Kato power controls.

Tomix is big everywhere else other than N.A. I doubt you will have problems once the connection to Kato Unitrack is worked out.

I have one slip switch from a couple years ago. I modified four short pieces of Kato track to act as compromise connections, and it comes out close to the size of a 15 degree Kato crossing. Hope to test it soon…

Yes, 15deg curves will get you back to parallel.

I’ve adapted Kato track and Tomix radius turnouts. I wish I had some pics to post.
