Looking at different roadbed type track. I have some Atlas True Track, no one around here carries HO Unitrack (everyone has the N), Bachmann is a no. I happened across some Trix C track over the weekend. It looks very good and the join system looks very sturdy, the posts into holes looks extremely sturdy and very electrically solid. The LACK of rail joiners, to me, looks especially nice. The Trix C is for DC while the Markln C seems to be for AC with the little posts down the middle.

Has anyone tried the Trix or another European made brand such as Piko? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Fleischmann, Roco, TRIX, PECO, etc. is generally excellent track. It's not popular here because it's expensive and difficult to find if you don't know where to look for it.

You are correct about the 'C' track. Märklin and TRIX are now under the same roof as is Fleischmann and Roco.

The only European brands I've tried are PECO, Bemo, and Tillig.

Hi !! I've used the Trix C track. It's very high quality, has a great system of geometry, and if you plan DCC operation, it's really designed for digital . The PIKO track is great too, nice profile. The Trix tracks are more complex underneath! The Piko system is more like a traditional DC analog track but you can wire it up for any DCC setup.

Both have excellent set of switches !

Hello new to the site as I was researching Trix C Track... Has anyone got good experience running a variety of manufacturers locos/rolling stock on the Trix C track? I am a Marklin guy and have a good working knowledge of the 3 rail Marklin C track, but really want to run some 2 rail stuff and am contemplating adding a loop or 2 of the Trix track (either isolated or as a separate loop obviously) as it will follow the same geometry and look...I was also looking at the PIKO A Roadbed as an alternative (slightly different geo and look). Any thoughts/experience with running issues - looking at mostly US brands and Kato for the type of stuff I want to run. Thanks Josh

Thanks for the reply, Yes I know that, except that the rails are lower profile to meet Code 83 standards, but my question is in regards to how well other rolling stock runs on it - if it is really Code 83, then most other brands should run well on it correct? Other brands wheels (RP25 etc) that I have tried do not run well on Marklin C track.
