Hi everyone. I'm new here, but haven't been able to find anything with this specific issue, and the docs for JMRI for this are pretty limited.
I'm trying to connect JMRI on my laptop up to my MRC Prodigy Advance. I do have the 'special' cable that appears to have some kind of electronics (sealed like a DCC controller) on the USB port portion of it. And it lights up, so it appears to be working.

However, in JMRI, when I select MRC as the manufacturer, it's asking for a "serial port". There is no serial port, it's connected to USB. I don't see any way to select the USB connection.

What am I missing?

I'm going to assume you are on a PC (I'm a Mac user).
Are there serial port drivers that need to be installed for [either] JMRI or the MRC hardware?

Seems I needed to use them when establishing a USB connection with one of my dcc hardware units (Roco z21 and Digikeijs DR5000).

Once installed, you selected the port (as made "accessible" by installing the driver), and that took care of it...
